Turbulent flow is:

A- dependent on surface

B- independent on surface

C- dependent on Reynolds number and surface

D- independent on Reynold number and surface

Homework Answers

Answer #2

Reynolds number gives the flow pattern whether its is laminar, tubulent. It is the ratio of inertia forces to viscous force. The interaction between the fluid and surfaces resulting to friction these friction eventually increases the random motion of the fluid particle this random movement we called as turbulence in the flow. Greater REYNOLDS NUMBER that is more than 4000 indicates turbulent flows.

Answer C). Turbulent flow depends on both Reynolds number and surface.
