Does centripetal acceleration affect (i.e. change) radial velocity? Explain.
A good example of this would be a tetherball wrapping around a pole. The tension force developed within the string causes the ball to have an angular acceleration. Also, the string wrapping around the pole give rise to radial velocity of the ball. But does this angular acceleration change the radial velocity of the ball in any way? Please Explain.
