What are the principal polymers used in fiber-reinforced polymers?

Homework Answers

Answer #1

Fiber reinforced polymers or plastics are the materials which is made of composite of two materials.. One of them is polymers and another one is the Fibers...

In short abbreviation it is called as FRP material.

Mainly used polymers in FRP are epoxy polymers, vinylester polymers, thermosetting polymers..Although phenol formaldehyde is still in use for FRP.

Main reason for making composites of fibers with polymers is to increase it's tensile strength and modulus of elasticity.. So any material which needs these kind of property with suitable applications are principal polymers..
