I'm not to sure what the auxillary drawing should look like? I assume it is looking down along one of the angled planes. It is from modern graphics communicatins 4th edition Chapter 7 problem 8.
There could be a situation when six pronciple views of an object will not completely describe the object. This is essentially true when there is an oblique or inclined features of an object and the edges and faces are not parallel to any of the three plane of projection. In oreder to show such edges and faces in their true size,an extra plane of projection is required.so the additional plane of projection is set up in a way that it should be parallel to edges and faces. These extra planes are called auxillary plane and the view projected is called auxillary view.
