This is a heat transfer question please explain what the answer is and why
The entry region and a fully developed region in internal flow are applicable for laminar and turbulent flow. True or False?
True
False
True.
Explanation:
Entry region and fully developed region exist for Laminar
as well as turbulent flow. Irrespective of types of flow when the
flow enters pipe, there always exist no slip condition at the pipe
wall causing non- uniform flow and growing boundary layer. After
some length known as developement length the the velocity profile
becomes well defined. In Laminar flow due to large viscous effects
the velocity profile is parabolic having maximum at center whereas
in turbulent flow the velocity is nearly uniform along the radial
direction due to vigorous mixing in lateral
directions.
