How do I find the angle of deflection due to wind?

How do I find the angle of deflection due to wind?

Homework Answers

Answer #1

A wind deflection angle calculation method of considering wire stress change. The wind deflection angle calculation method comprises the following steps:

  • calculating wire stress under a ruling span when the temperature changes in the presence of wind;
  • calculating a horizontal component and a vertical component of the stress at a wire suspension point during wind deflection; and (3) applying the wire stress obtained in the step (2) into a rigid straight bar method, and obtaining a new calculation formula of calculating the wind deflection angle of a suspension insulator string.
  • According to the wind deflection angle calculation method, the effects of the wind deflection angle caused by wire stress change in different working conditions are considered; and the traditional calculation formula of the wind deflection angle of the suspension insulator string is optimized and supplemented. The wind deflection angle calculation method is of great significance in guarantee of safe operation of a power network.

For Epitaxial Growth, there is a technique called RHEED (Reflection High Energy Electron Deflection). How do we calculate the layer depth from the RHEED screen? Why is this possible as we are only using a shallow reflection angle; shouldn't it be a steep angle? Thanks in advance.

how do sailboats sail up wind? It is obvious how they move with the wind but definitely not so obvious how they go against the wind. Going along with this, baseballs would still fly even if there was no lift BUT how do Frisbee and boomerangs work?
