A forced draught fan supplies air at 8m/s against a draught of 25mm ofwater. Estimate
the power required to run the fan if 2350kg/h of coal is consumed and 16kg of air is
supplied per kg of coal burned. The temperature of the flue gas and the ambient air
were 600K and 300K respectively.
What will be the power required to drive the fan if the forced draught is replaced by
induced one.
