From year 1940 to 1980, the speed of working of machineries had nearly doubled.

With increase in operating Speed of machineries, the imbalance force in system increases significantly moreover as soon as the operating Speed approaches the resonance frequency of rotating component, the vibration forces increase significantly and the element becomes less reliable. Therefore we can say that with increasing speed of operation the occurrence of resonant frequency becomes more frequent and reliability of machinery is reduced.
