2 layers have fibres aligned in one direction, the last has fibres aligned in 2 directions.

Since we are creating a sports bat, we need to create something which has a tough and strong core. Therefore we will place the fibers in two directions at the center and the other two on its top and bottom (just like a sandwich). This is done to provide the bat a little tensile strength also because whenever the ball strikes on the bat, it is due to its tensile nature that it'll hit the ball far away, and this comes when the core is strong. So the fiber aligned in two directions will be sandwiched between the other two.
