Solve the following pairs of equation for the unknown 6A + 2T = 6
8A - 4T = 28

Homework Answers

Answer #1

Answer :

Consider the given system of equations

6A + 2T = 6 ---------- ( 1 )

8A - 4T = 28 ---------- ( 2 )

Multiply the equation ( 1 ) by 2 and add to the equation ( 2 ) , we get

12A + 4T = 12

8A - 4T = 28

------------------------

20A = 40

Dividing by 20 on both sides we get

A = 2

Substituting A = 2 in equation ( 1 ) , we get

6(2) + 2T = 6

12 + 2T = 6

subtract 12 on both sides , we get

2T = - 6

Dividing by 2 we get

T = - 3

Therefore , the solution of the system of equations is A = 2 and T = - 3
