A soil test indicates that the pH of a soil is 5.5.  For grass to thrive, the pH must be raised to 6.5.  From a chart on the bag, you discover that 80 lbs of lime per 1,000 sq ft are required to raise the pH from 5.5 to 6.5.  Determine how many bags of lime that you need to buy for a residential property that has a 140 X 120 front lawn and a 120 X 120 back lawn.  Lime comes in 50 lb bags.
