Homework Answers

Answer #1

Let the cost of Orange Juice be "x".

Cost of Bottle of Milk be "y".

Since the cost of a bottle of orange juice is equal to the cost of two bottles of milk.

cost of a bottle of orange juice =   cost of two bottles of milk

x = 2*y (1)

3 bottles of orange juice and 5 bottles of milk equals 66 dollar

3x + 5y = 66 // one bottle of Orange Juice = x then 3 bottles cost is "3x"

Put x = 2y

3(2y)+ 5 y = 66

3(2y) + 5y = 66

6y + 5y = 66

11 y =66

y = 6

Therefore the cost of bottle of milk is 6 dollar
