Feed NEl (mcal/kg DM) MP (kg/kg DM) CA (g/kg dm)
feed 1 1.5 0.06 0.8
feed 2 1.2 0.1 0.7
feed 3 0.01 0.001 15

The animinal requirement for NEl is 30 mcal/d for mp is 2 kg/d and for ca is 50g/d

solve the system of equations and find the amounts of feed 1, feed 2, feed 3 that you would need to feed to exactly meet the animinal representation.

Answers: amount of feed 1:______ kg dm Feed 2: ______ kg dm Feed 3: ______ kg dm

Homework Answers

Answer #1

Let amount of feed 1 be x kg-dm, feed 2 be y kg-dm, feed 3 be z kg-dm.

Then by condition we have,

1.5x+1.2y+0.01z = 30

150x+120y+z = 3000.........(i)

0.06x+0.1y+0.001z = 2

60x+100y+z = 2000..........(ii)

0.8x+0.7y+15z = 50

8x+7y+150z = 500...........(iii)

Subtracting (ii) from (i) we get, 90x+20y = 1000

i.e., 9x+2y = 100......(iv)

Multiplying (ii) by 150 and then subtracting from (iii) we get,

-8992x-14993y = -299500

i.e., 8992x+14993y = 299500.......(v)

Solving (iv) and (v) we get, x = 7.6979 and y = 15.3592

Putting this values in (ii) we get,

60*7.6979+100*15.3592+z = 2000

i.e., z = 2.206

Therefore, amount of feed 1: 7.70 kg-dm Feed 2: 15.36 kg-dm Feed 3: 2.21 kg-dm.

The money is typically used to fund projects that reduce carbon emissions. One such project type is the introduction of more efficient cooking stoves into communities. Much of the world uses inefficient charcoal or wood stoves that result in excessive indoor air pollution, deforestation,...
