There is a war going on. there are 100 people in the circle, the first person has a knife. he kills the second person and passes the knife to the thirst person, at this rate there will only be 1 person remaining at the end. Which numbered person is that?

It took me 30 mins to come up with the answer, and I'm not sure if its the right one. My answer is 73rd person. please let me know if its right and if there is a way to compute this using calculus or what ever.
