PLEASE TYPEfind statistical parameters (mean, median and standard deviation).25, 75, 75, 50, 85 PLEASE TYPE

Homework Answers

Answer #1

Mean= Sum of observations/total observation = (25+75+75+50+85)/5 =310/5=62

First we arrange data in ascending order so;

25,50,75,75,85 (i)

so now from (i) for median we take (n+1)/2 th observation i.e (5+1)/2=3 rd observation

so median is 75.

Standard deviation is square root of variance.

The variance (σ2) is a measure of how far each value in the data set is from the mean. Here is how it is defined:

Subtract the mean from each value in the data. This gives you a measure of the distance of each value from the mean.Square each of these distances (so that they are all positive values), and add all of the squares together.Divide the sum of the squares by the number of values in the data set

so variance is ((62-25)^2+(62-50)^2+(62-75)^2+(62-75)^2+(62-85)^2)/5=2380/5=476

so standard deviation is square root which is 21.817
