f(x) = x2 -4 / x+1

  • The domain is a set of inputs or values where the function exists.

given,

  

the denominator can not be 0

so, or   the function exists for all values of x except x= - 1

so the domain will be:  

  • The X-intercept is the point where y=0 that means f(x)=0

or, and  

so the X-intercepts are (2,0) and (-2,0)

  • The Y-intercept is the point where x=0

   , x should be 0

so the Y-intercept is (0,-4).
