Ashton just launched a new business page on social media. After one month, she has 3535 followers. She decides to take a course that promises to triple her number of followers each month for 66 months. After 77 months, how many followers will Ashton have if this is true?

Homework Answers

Answer #1

The number of followers for the next 67 months since starting is:

3535, 3535*3, (3535*3)*3, ((3535*3)*3)*3.............................

Hence a Geometric Progression Series is formed with first term=a=3535 and common ratio=3 We have to find T67 of the obtained series.

The nth term of Geometric Series is given by:

Tn=arn-1

=> T67=3535(3)67-1

=> T67=3535(3)66

=> T67= 1.0924265e+35

Hence after 67 months the number of followers will remain constant and hence after 77 months, the number of followers will be 1.0924265e+35
