Homework Answers

Answer #1

Given,

Canned juice drink is 15% orange juice,

another is 5% orange juice

How many litres of each should be mixed in order to get 10L that is 8% orange juice.

Let us take x be the amount of 15% orange juice required

Final mixture is 10Litres,

So,

(10-x) represents the amount of 5% orange juice

Equation is,

15% = 15/100 = 0.15

5% = 5/100 = 0.05

8% = 8/100 = 0.08

x = 3 Litres

(10-x) = 10-3 = 7 Litres

Therefore,

3L of 15% orange juice and 7L of 5% orange juice is required.
