pi is a mathematical constant which is the ratio of circles circi=umference to its diameter

it is also called "Archimedes constant " after greek mathematician Archimedes

it is represented by greek letter

its standard value is 22/7 which is approximated to 3.14

we can use pi in geometry and trigonometry, eigenvalues , fourier transform , vector calculus etc

it can be applied to find area of circle

if radius of circel is given we can find the area by applying formula A = pi r^2
