Byron lives where people trade goods they produce for other
things they need. He has some fish and wants to trade them for
bananas. He finds the following: How many bananas can Byron get with 5 fish? |
||
Since 4 loaves of bread gives 14 oranges, one loaf of bread will give 14/4 oranges.
So one loaf =14/4 oranges
One loaf = 3.5 oranges.........(1)
Now 2 loaves which is equivalent to 5 fish will give 3.5 x 2 oranges
5 fish= 7 oranges
Since one loaf = 1 banana and 3 oranges, it can be see be seen that 1 banana is 0.5 oranges from (1)
Since 1 banana =0.5 oranges and 7 oranges is equal to 5 fish,
5 fish= 0.5 x 7 bananas
5 fish = 3.5 bananas
Byron can get 3.5 bananas with 5 fish
