The Problem:
Two small towns are adjacent to one another. Town A has a population of 500 people, while Town B has a population of 1200.

Town A has a population growth rate of 4% per year. Town B’s annual growth rate is 1.75%.

When will the populations be the same? What will their populations be when they are the same?

Marks may be awarded as outlined below. If your teacher plans to use a different strategy to evaluate your work they will inform you before you start the assignment.

Unless you are instructed differently this assignment is worth 5 marks. Use the following information to guide your work:
