Can someone please explain to me in the simplest way, how to go about solving a mathematical proof? For example, mathematical proofs involving rational/real numbers and integers. I find them hard to solve and would like to get better at them.
Your doubt is absolutely viable. It is very difficult to solve a proof.
To solve most of the proofs related to real numbers and integers ,we first have to assume that the particular proof is true and then try to solve using mathematical expressions. In the end if your answer contradicts, it means that your assumption was wrong and the correct answer is the reverse of it. And if your answer is correct then it means that your assumption was correct.
Actually it is difficult for me to give an exact answer to your query as we have to think accordingly about the question at that instant but in most of the questions we use the above mentioned approach.
Hope it helps. Ask your query in the comment section :)
