Algebra is important in mathematics, because it is the core to solving all problems starting from simple calculations to calculations related to Banks and motion in physics. You need algebra if you have to calculate simple or compound interest.

You need algebra if you have to use newtons motion equations to find displacement or velocity in Physics.

You need algebra to apply for calculations in almost all branches of engineering.

Personally it helps you develop logical reasoning and thinking also.
