There are 1,000 lockers and 1,000 students at a new school. To test if the lockers work, the school came up with this idea:
Kid 1 opens all of the lockers. Kid 2 closes all multiples of 2. Kid 3 reverses all multiples of 3, and kid 4 reverses all multiples of 4. This process continues until all 1,000 students have done this. (such as kid 5 reverses multiples of 5, etc.)
After the process is complete, how many lockers will remain open? Why those specific lockers?
I am confused on how to solve this. There is supposed to be a pattern with the lockers.
Total lockers open =31
