Can you write out all the steps on how to solve for X for the following problem. Please do not skip any steps, even if they are simple:

7.9x10^-9 = 4x^3 + .025x (see left) this is the question....solve for x. I'm having issues understanding how to combine x cubed and x with the addition.

Homework Answers

Answer #1

7.9x10^-9 = 4x^3 + .025x

subtract 7.9x10-9 from bothsides

7.9x10-9 - 7.9x10-9 = 4x3 + 0.025x  - 7.9x10-9

0 = 4x3 + 0.025x  - 7.9x10-9

swith sides

4x3 + 0.025x  - 7.9x10-9 = 0

Factor out common term

x(4x2 + 0.025 - 7.9(10-9 ) ) = 0 [ apply exponent rule: ab+c = ab . ac. x3 = xx2 ]

4x2 + 0.025 - 7.9(10-9 ) = 0 [ by using zero factor principle x = 0 ]

subtract  0.025 - 7.9(10-9 ) from both sides

4x2 + 0.025 - 7.9(10-9 ) - [ 0.025 - 7.9(10-9 ) ] = 0 - [ 0.025 - 7.9(10-9 ) ]

4x2 = -0.025 + 7.9(10-9 )

4x2 =  7.9(10-9 ) - 0.025

4x2 = [ 7.9(10-9 ) - 0.025 ]

[ Multiply both sides by 1000 ]

[ Divide both sides by 4000 ]

substitute back

Therefore
