7.9x10^-9 = 4x^3 + .025x (see left) this is the question....solve for x. I'm having issues understanding how to combine x cubed and x with the addition.

subtract 7.9x10^-9 from bothsides

7.9x10^-9 - 7.9x10^-9 = 4x³ + 0.025x  - 7.9x10^-9

0 = 4x³ + 0.025x  - 7.9x10^-9

swith sides

4x³ + 0.025x  - 7.9x10^-9 = 0

Factor out common term

x(4x² + 0.025 - 7.9(10^-9 ) ) = 0 [ apply exponent rule: a^b+c = a^b . a^c. x³ = xx² ]

4x² + 0.025 - 7.9(10^-9 ) = 0 [ by using zero factor principle x = 0 ]

subtract  0.025 - 7.9(10^-9 ) from both sides

4x² + 0.025 - 7.9(10^-9 ) - [ 0.025 - 7.9(10^-9 ) ] = 0 - [ 0.025 - 7.9(10^-9 ) ]

4x² = -0.025 + 7.9(10^-9 )

4x² =  7.9(10^-9 ) - 0.025
