equations are statements that means two mathematical expressions are equal

for example

2x + 5 = 7

this means 2 x+ 5 is equal to 7

solving the equation

step 1 : subtract 5 from both sides

2x = 7 - 5

2x = 2

step 2

divide both sides by 2

x = 2/2

x = 1

solution is x = 1

2) graphing

graphing is a diagram that shows relationship between two variables

for example graph equation y = 2x

this will show a diagram of relationship between y and x

graph shown below

you can see there is a linear relationship between x and y

3) inequality

an inequality is just like an equation where we use greater than and less than symbols instead of equal sign

it states that two expressions are not equal

for example

2x + 5 < 7

again subtracting 5 from both sides

2x < 2

dividing both sides by 2

x < 1

so, solution is all values of x less than 1
