Some have said that all you need to know about
Finance is that "a dollar today is always worth more than a dollar
tomorrow." Does this apply, do you think, to the value of
innovative ideas? Are "ideas today worth more than ideas
tomorrow?"
Read the article “What It Takes To Think Deeply About Complex Problems” before answering. Does this factor into the concept of innovative ideas and the value they may hold or generate?
Very Interesting Question!!
'Ideas today worth more than ideas tomorrow' may or may not be necessarily true.
For an idea to be implemented successfully today it is also essential if it's time has come or not. For eg: I may design a very futuristic transportation capsule but it might not be successful if it lags in scalability, cost, etc.
On the other hand, there might be some disruptive innovations which not only kill the existing product but also be exponentially successful. For eg: Introduction of digital camera killed the traditional 'roll film' based cameras.
Thus I believe it is not necessarily true that an Idea today will definitely be worth more than an idea tomorrow. (But yeah, you surely risk someone else stealing your idea and implementing it in the future)
