Cross-functional team

Cross function team refers to a team of people from different functional areas of the company like finance, marketing, operations working towards a common goal.

The biggest advantage of a cross-functional team is in problem solving as members come from different areas of expertise and experience. It helps to bring new perspectives. A disadvantage of cross-functional team is that team will take a longer time to develop cohesion as it consists of people from different backgrounds. There may be a higher level of conflict.
