I am having trouble writing a Financial Ratio Analysis for Apple Inc. Is there a guideline or explanation of how this looks or should be done?

Here is the assignment

Financial Ratio Analysis

Each student will select a publicly held company, internationally trading company, approved by the
instructor and, using the company’s most recent Annual Report and/or 10K report (and other reports as desired), prepare 3 to 5 page(but not limited) analysis paper based on the chapters
covered in class. Tables and/or graphs are not included in the page numbers. This assignment is due during Session Two. APA format required.

Students do not have to use all the ratio analysis discussed in the text, but too few ratio analysis will make the "Financial Ratio Analysis" incomplete and unreliable.

Homework Answers

Answer #1

1). Select the ratios that you want to calculate for the chosen company. Ensure that ratios from all the 5 major ratio categories are there. Since, Apple is a technology company, use technology sector specific ratios, as well.

2).Include the financial statements as part of the report. Compute the ratios and state the formulas, as well. Calculate at least 2-year ratios for comparison purpose.

3). Analyze each ratio in terms of 1). what does it indicate and what is the industry trend for it 2). what is the ratio for the company and what does it indicate vis-a-vis industry trends. If possible, try to identify the factors responsible for the trend in the company.

4). End with a short synopsis about the general financial health of the company based on the ratio analysis done above.
