Although amazon has been profitable in domestic market as well as many other locations, however it is losing money in India where it is fighting off India's Flipkart. Although India is providing losses to Amazon but it is a large market in a nascent stage where Amazon need sto consolidate for profits. Amazon also needs to offer products at a lower price as disposable income in India is not high. Th eonline retail industry is still developing in India and may need some time for profits. Even domestic Flipkart is also making huge losses in India.
