The similarity between the biblical concept of covenant and debt covenant in business is that both expect a ceratin kind of behavior from the other party. In biblical covenant, God expects His disciples to behave in a particular way only then He will fulfill His promise. In debt covenant, the lender states the rules that the borrower is supposed to follow.

The difference is that there are limitations in debt covenants but no such limitation is found in biblical concept of covenant.
