Homework Answers

Answer #1

The four lens of making decisions include Right and responsibility, Result, Relationship and Reputation. These four basic lenses are derived from the four basic values of rationality, sensibility, autonomy and equality. The balance between the four basic values leads to the formation of the basic lenses. After learning these 4 lenses, I find that I am more drawn towards the rights and responsibilities lens. This lens has affected my decision and it has made me emphasize on transparency, truthfulness and freedom of expression. The skills learnt through the ethics exercises have helped me to understand the real life situations in the business world and how the managers have to maintain a balance among these lenses and also keep in mind the goals of the company. I will be able to handle the situations better in future with such kind of practical implementation of my knowledge.
