There is a point when we need to stop looking for alternatives. The best way to assess them is to do a cost benefit analysis of the various options available. The net benefits of those should be derived and measured. For this, the main requirements must be considered rather than all which may not be relevant.
The first signal that its time to stop lookingfor other alternatives is that we find the option which meet all important requirements.
The second signal is that the options provide us with a greater net benefit as compared to others.
