What is digital signature? Discuss its uses
A digital signature is as an electronic form of a signature that can be used to authenticate the identity of the sender or the person sending the message, e-mail etc to the receiver. Its uses are as follows :-
1. Data protection/privacy - it ensures that the information which the sender sent to the reveiver is intact and has not been changed.
2. Authentication/verification - Digital signatures allow the verification of the actual sender and makes sure that only the genuine party sends
3. Accountability - they are used to impose accountability for the sender in case of future verification that the sender had sent the message in past
