The Resistance banker movie depicts that how a banker funded the Dutch resistance during the second world war. In order to prevent the Nazi from invading, the banker helped the dutch resist the Nazis with the creation of shadow bank. He used to forge bonds and sell them to High net worth individuals and and redeem them for cash at real banks. This way they took millions of money from the Dutch Bank and funded the resistance, as the need for funds kept increasing . This money was sued to release all the sailors captured , to fight the germans and to protect the refugees that had gone into hiding.

Shadow banking in finance means that a collection of non banking financial intermediaries that are performing similar activities to that of traditional banks but outside the purview of regulatory bodies.
