Hello I am currently working on an informative speech for my class. My topic that I will be speaking on is the importance of budgeting.

I am came up with this outline so far:

Specific Purpose: To inform the audience about the importance of budgeting - advantages

Central Idea: Making a budgeting plan is easy and the most critical step - great tool

Introduction

Question: what’s more important to you? A daily Starbucks drink or a yearly beach vacation. Why budgeting is essential and what the benefits are - don’t spend money you don’t have - shed light on bad spending habits

Body

Paragraph 1: Making a plan - even at the end of the month - never negative - listing all fixed expenses (rent, bills) and set a limit on extras(eating out)

Paragraph 2: Applications or websites to track spending habits and expenses - sticking to the plan - cover all your expenses - keeping a rainy day fund

Paragraph 3: saving and investing - working towards a goal or reward - revise the budget annually

Conclusion:

Why having savings and good credit will secure you for the future -retirement

It's a great outline. Just can include examples for how budgeting is necessary for an improvement/ advancement perspective. Where in any industry, the industry is comprised of all the small and large players dealing in those goods. So if the industry is expected to grow at a certain rate say 10%, the company should at least budget it to increase it's revenue by 10% and more. So that the company's market share does not gets diluted and the position is maintained and further strengthened. Budgeting gives direction to an individual or an organisation.
