Starbucks Main Strategy :

Starbucks Coffee uses the Porter's Model ie, Differentiating generic strategy as its intensive growth strategy. In the generic strategy, the aim of the company to stand in lime-light away from other competitors. Thus, Starbucks stand out by emphasizing on specialty coffee which easily differentiates Starbucks cafés from the coffee offered by other establishments/companies. Starbucks uses its sustainable and responsible sourcing policy as its generic strategy to differentiate its products from competitor companies. Like competitors like Dunkin Donuts & McDonald stategically concentrates on "low cost", whereas Starbucks Coffee take up the strategy of "a warm friendly ambiance that people enjoy". By adopting and implementation of the generic stratety, the Starbucks differentiate it-self from its competitors in the long run also.
