This information usually covers the income statement of prior periods. Usually comparative income statement has 2 or 3 columns, each depicting the current year and previous accounting years for which comparative income statement information is presented. In this way one can compare and analyze the income statement or items of income statement of two or more periods. A comparative income statement may contain data or income statement for two or more companies also.
