As per Malaysia's National Fatwa council Foreign Exchange is illegal or forbidden and according to law of islam -Sharia FOREX is haram means forbidden or against law. It is because FOREX or Foreign Exchange involves speculation.National Fatwa Foreign council restricts Muslim people from FOREX.

In Malaysia you can only Trade currency with registered and approved financial institutions. Otherwise you may get penalized or arrested.There is no problem with people who trade with thier on funds. But it is restricted use funds of others.
