Homework Answers

Answer #1

The Lender must evaluate all the loan requests critically. The following are the major issues that he must consider:

  1. Credit worthiness of the borrower : Lender will evaluate the credit worthiness of the borrower. Credit rating agencies will provide the rating assigned for the borrower based on his credit worthiness. This will help the lender to reduce the risk of default.
  2. Structure and documentation of loan agreement : Lender must verify whether the loan agreement can be properly structured and documented. Proper documentation is necessary for easy loan process.
  3. Claim of lender against borrower's earnings or any collateral pledged : The collateral pledged by the borrower must be of adequate monetary value such that the lender can claim against the collateral if default happened. The collateral property must be verified properly before lending money to the borrower
