Social Policies

Social policy usually consists of guidelines, principles, rules and regulations that are associated with human welfare, such as a person's quality of life.

There are basically two types of policymakers namely;

(i) Official Policymakers:

These are formal policymakers who act on behalf of government.

(ii)Supplementary policymakers.

These are primary policymakers who are engaged in the formulation of policy

Steps taken in policy making process:- Major steps involved in the policymaking process are as follows:-

1. Policy Formulation:- It identifies the most effective policy formations and who authorise the same.

2. Policy Adoption: In this phase policies are adopted for future implementation

3. Policy Implementation:- In this phase we move from concept to reality

4. Policy Evaluation:- The policies are evaluated to understand the overall effectiveness.
