I agree with this statement that collective bargaining is a valuable mechanism to redress the power imbalance in the employment relationship. Collective bargaining brings voice through collective representation which gives an opportunity to employees to communicate their views to top management. Through collective bargaining, employees negotiate for better terms and conditions at work place which was otherwise not possible of individual employee. Generally they organize into unions and union deals with the matters related to their concerns like employee’s grievances, labor disputes, wages, hours of employment or working conditions etc. therefore collective bargaining is a valuable mechanism to redress the power imbalance in the employment relationship.
