Answer #1

Current price of Pfizer is $39 on 21st August.

Dow Jones Industrial Average in the past three years had returned over 60% of return to its investor whereas if you look at the shares of Pfizer it has hardly provided over a return of 5% in 3 years so it has majorly underperformed the Dow Jones Industrial Average and the underperformance was due to the belonging of defensive sector like pharmaceuticals.

The price of Pfizer has remained constant at the levels from 30 to 40 and it has not provided the investor with desired rate of return in past three years because this has belonged to a pharmaceutical index and pharmaceutical industry has not done much in past three years and it was all aggressive industries which has outperformed, so it has constantly underperformed the index in past three years by a large margin.
