a.Total Prefererd stock dividends in 1 year = 8.50*670,000 = 5,695,000
Total arrears for 3 years = 5,695,000*4 = 22,780,000
Since 70% of dividends in arreas, that would be =0.7* 22,780,000 = $15,946,000
b. Price of the bond assuming semi-annual coupons =PV(rate,nper,pmt,fv) in excel where rate =0.10/2, nper=15*2,pmt =120/2 and fv =1000
Price of the bond =PV(0.10/2,15*2,120/2,1000) = $1153.72
c. Number of Bonds to be issued = 15,946,000/1153.72 = 17,729.51 = 13,821 Bonds
