What is greed? Cambridge dictionary defines it as 'a very strong wish to continuously get more of something, especially food or money'. Thus greed by default is not bad. It can be a strong motivator to drive people, states and at times nations to push themselves ahead of others and grow financial and economically. That is why capitalism has grown in America with deep roots and strong branches. This is what has been the backbone of Americas growth story.

Capitalism is an economic system characterized by private ownership of means of production and operations. Thus all industries are privately owned and operated with no government intervention. It's a free reigh for encouraging competition and innovation with the motto of survival of the fittest and smartest. As a principal, this system has a great scope for encouraging the best in us to give fuel for growth and greed. This is what which makes America different. This is the idea focused in multiple books like Ayn Rands Atlas Shrugged which talks about the possibilities when men bring out their best when they are driven by their vision and greed to grow and flourish.
