A person has to listen to what the other party is saying in order to ensure that the response given is proper and sensible. In terms of criticism, it can be of two types. There can be positive criticism and negative criticism. It is also about how a person reacts to the criticism. The positive criticism is for the betterment and improvement of the person while negative criticism is for the sake of insulting a person. Listening skills can be improved only when the person is able to take the criticism easily and not letting his self esteem get hurt. Thus, one should take the arguments and criticisms in a light heart and absorb the good points for improvement and not for hurting oneself.
