Preferred provider organisations are medical care organisations that can network with a large number of doctors so that treatment could be done at the minimum possible cost.

Important features of preferred provider organisation as follows-

1.it does not need any referral from primary care physician in order to visit a new doctor

2. It also has a wide flexibility in choosing with wide number of doctors

3.if one opts for doctors who are outside the network, he would not be provided with discount and he will pay the whole amount.

So because of these units facilities preferred provider organisation are highly preferred these days.
