1. The first risk with the bartering was there was not an accurate and common method of measuring the things. There were no units to measure things. Different articles have different values that's why there were problems in common measure of value. So, there was an imbalance in trade between what they exchanged.

2. The second risk: there were natural calamities in the past. So, sometimes, the person might not be able to complete the barter process. This led to a breach of contract.

3. The third risk with bartering in the past was there was lack of divisibility of goods. This risk raised when the big commodity was exchanged for smaller commodity.
