Restrictive bank regulations thinks
that it protects commercial bank products which other firms could
not cater to these markets but this is not the truth as other
financial institutions like investment banks, insurance firms etc.
are catering to the market with almost similar products as of
commercial banks.
Historical regulation has penalized
commercial bank customers who do not have access to range of
products they demand which must have not been done. These
restrictions are most probably the reasons of rising prices of
commercial bank products in a competitive marketplace.
