Answer #1

a) two-tailed test

α=0.07

for two-tailed test , there will we two critical values

area in each tail beyond the critical values = α/2 = 0.07/2 = 0.035

using the standard normal probability table ,

critical values for test statistic are, -z0.035 = -1.81 and z0.035 = 1.81

b) Right-tailed test, α=0.10, n=6

1- α = 1-0.10 = 0.90

critical value corresponding to the area calculated above = z = 1.28

c)

α=0.10

area in each tail beyond the critical values = α/2 = 0.10/2 = 0.05

using the standard normal probability table ,

critical values for test statistic are, -z0.05 = -1.65 and z0.05 = 1.65
